Preparation 6 items

Confirm the device list
Serials received matched against what was ordered and invoiced.
Record each device
Serial, model and warranty end date recorded before anything is handed out.
Apply the build
Standard image or enrolment profile applied and verified.
Enrol into management
Confirm each device is reporting in, not just imaged.
Apply filtering and policy
Content filtering, app restrictions and update policy for the year group.
Label the device
Asset tag applied and matched to the record.

Assignment 3 items

Assign to the student
Record the device against the named student so custody is traceable.
Record the accessories
Charger, case, stylus — the parts that go missing most.
Confirm the agreement
Acceptable use and damage responsibility signed by student and guardian.

Handover 4 items

Check the device in front of them
Powers on, signs in, no existing damage. Note anything found.
Walk through first sign-in
Account, password and any MFA step completed with them.
Explain how to report a fault
Where to go, what happens next, expected turnaround.
Close the deployment record
Confirm the assignment is recorded before they leave.
